Drivers in Sutton stopped by police for speeding and not wearing seat belts

Officers from Sutton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted a ‘fatal four’ operation in the town yesterday (February 17), to reduce offences such as speeding, using a mobile phone, not wearing a seat belt and driving while under the influence of drink or drugs which are responsible for the majority of road deaths.
It comes after complaints from residents about a number of speeding drivers.

Hide AdPolice stopped two motorists for driving with excess speed while patrolling yesterday and another was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt.
One person on social media commented: “Well done, if it saves one life it is well worth it!”
While another user said: “Every day I see so many idiots breaking the law such as using mobile phones whilst driving, speeding through built up areas and the other party things that put others around risk.”
