Drivers in Sutton stopped by police for speeding and not wearing seat belts

Sutton drivers have been stopped by police for speeding and not wearing seat belts while driving across the town, following complaints from residents.

Officers from Sutton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted a ‘fatal four’ operation in the town yesterday (February 17), to reduce offences such as speeding, using a mobile phone, not wearing a seat belt and driving while under the influence of drink or drugs which are responsible for the majority of road deaths.

It comes after complaints from residents about a number of speeding drivers.

Police stopped two motorists for driving with excess speed while patrolling yesterday and another was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt.
