A Hucknall drink driver jumped over a wall in panic after he was spotted by a policeman.
Christopher Alan Townend borrowed his stepfather’s car and drove to the garage to buy cigarettes.
But a court heard Townend of Papplewick Lane, had been out drinking that night with friends and was found to have 48mg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath.
He pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving without insurance when he appeared before Mansfield Magistrates on Wednesday.
Police spotted him driving on the wrong side of Watnall Road on July 27. He pulled into a garage forecourt got out of his car and jumped over a wall before giving himself up.
Townend was disqualified for 14 months, fined £270 with £27 victim surcharge and a court charge of £150.
