A motorist who crashed into a taxi the morning after a drinking session was found to be over the drink-drive limit.
Jon Luke Kemp, 22, of Station View, Shirebrook, had been driving his sister’s Ford Ka when he ploughed into the vehicle on Woodhouse Road at around 8.30am on July 27.
The police found he had 61mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.
He admitted charges of drink driving, and driving without insurance. He said he thought he was insured on his sister’s car, and that he had been okay to drive from the night before.
He was banned from driving for 18 months and made to pay £365 in fines and charges.
