Distraction thieves who target mobile phones in Mansfield pubs are being hunted by police.

Two males described as eastern European have been entering the local pubs, as well as estate agents and recruiting agencies, and targeting iPhones and android phones left on tables.

Their routine is to distract the owner by showing them a leaflet and asking if they want to buy any of the items listed.

It is placed over the phone which is then taken as they withdraw the leaflet.

Police are now urging people to keep their phones on their person and download apps that can help locate it and show its movements, should it be stolen.

One of the suspected thieves is described as being stocky with short dark hair, the other slightly taller with a slim build and short dark hair balding in the middle.
