Distinctive bike leathers stolen in Mansfield

Expensive bike leathers and a helmet have been stolen from a house in Mansfield.

The theft took place around lunchtime on Tuesday 29th November in Beck Crescent. The intruders prised open a front window on the first floor.

The items stolen were Arlen Ness one-piece black Kangaroo leathers with silver and white flashes, worth £900. The words ‘Arlen Ness’ are also printed on various points of the suit.

Also stolen was a black Arai RX7 helmet, with a dark smoked visor. The word ‘STEALTH’ is written in white and silver on both sides of the helmet. There is also an orange sticker on the helmet’s rear right. The helmet is valued at £500.

Det Con Lee Keeling said: “It is very unusual for items such as these to be stolen and as such I would expect it would be difficult to sell them on.

“Perhaps someone will receive the stolen property as a gift this Christmas.”

Police are stopping motorcyclists and their pillion passengers who may be dressed in leathers or a helmet matching the description of the stolen articles.

Homeowners are also being reminded to ensure their doors are locked, their windows closed and that valuables are not left on display.

Anyone with any information about the burglary or the location of the stolen leathers is asked to contact DC Lee Keeling on 101 extension 805 3463 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
