Controlled explosion after ‘World War II hand grenades’ found in Nottinghamshire woodland
A controlled explosion was carried out after suspected World War II ammunition was found in private woodland in Nottinghamshire.

Police were made aware of the discovery, off Laming Gap Lane, Cotgrave just after 6pm yesterday (Thursday, April 30). It was reported that the items found appeared to be hand grenades.
Nottinghamshire Police requested the assistance of the Joint Services Explosive Ordinance Disposal Engineers and a cordon was placed at the scene.
