Charity bags theft appeal

A MANSFIELD charity shop manager is warning about opportunist thieves stealiong donations left outside people’s homes for collection.

Mansfield Extra Care manager Tony Smith says the Regent Street shop, which helps elderly people live independent and healthy lives, has suffered an 80 per cent drop in second-hand contributions due to the thefts.

And he says the thieves are not opportunists, but come round regularly in a white van to take anything that has been left outside homes.

Tony said: “If any one has a problem or they want to volunteer, they can ring us on 01623 657129 and speak to me.”
