CCTV shows burglary suspect at Mansfield home

POLICE have issued this CCTV footage showing a man they would like to speak to about an attempt to break into a home in Mansfield.

The man is seen walking through the yard of the house on Chesterfield Road South at around 9.35am on the morning of 2nd June.

The attempted burglary took place later that day or early the following day, some time between 7pm on 2nd June and 2.30pm on 3rd June.

The figure is described as white, around six feet tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a grey hooded top and green baseball style cap.

During the burglary attempt, a window was forced open, but it does not appear that anyone got inside the house as nothing was taken.

But the house had been burgled on 7th May and it may be that the same offender was returning to the scene of the initial crime.

On that occasion a laptop and a number of other valuable items were stolen.

Anyone who recognises the individual in the CCTV or knows anything about the incident is urged to telephone Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 300 99 99, ext 805 3463, quoting incident number 705 of June 3.

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
