Careless driver left victim with catalogue of serious injuries after Clipstone crash
A careless driver who left another road user with a catalogue of serious injuries following a collision in Clipston has been told he could be jailed, a court has heard.
Curtis Brooks, aged 32, of Manvers View, Boughton, admitted causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention, and driving without a licence, when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on Tuesday.
The incident happened on Mansfield Road, in Clipstone, on June 13, said Ben Payne, prosecuting.
Paige Tugby, mitigating, requested the case be adjourned for a report from the probation service before Brooks, who has never served a prison sentence, is sentenced.

"A man has been injured quite badly," she said. "The custody threshold has been passed. The exercise will be to see if any custodial sentence can be suspended.”
"Quite badly injured is perhaps an understatement," said Mr Payne.
He said Brooks' victim was left with injuries including a fractured left hip, a fractured left eye socket and a fractured left collar bone.
The man also sustained a fractured breast bone, a punctured lung and swelling to the left side of his brain, as well as two bleeds on the brain.
"These are quite substantial injuries," Mr Payne said, adding that the offence has been placed in the highest category.
Ms Tugby said Brooks is currently working, volunteers as a coach, and character references should be obtained.
The case was adjourned until January 22 for a pre-sentence report.
Brooks was granted bail until that date and made the subject of an interim driving ban.
