Bolsover police issue update on incidents at Derbyshire school involving threats being made by pupils

Police have issued an update on incidents that occurred at a Derbyshire school – which involved threats being made by pupils.

The Bolsover and Clowne Safer Neighbourhood Team have issued a statement yesterday (May 5) about incidents that occurred at a school in April.

A team spokesperson said: “We are aware of concerns raised regarding incidents that took place last month at a school in the Clowne area.

“We have been contacted due to reports of students threatening other students at the school, and enquiries are ongoing into these incidents.

“Following conversations with the school it is understood all involved pupils have been dealt with in line with school policies.

“There has been much conversation on social media that knives are being allowed into the school for religious reasons – this is not the case – and no knives were a part of the incidents that have been reported to the force.

“Comments online have caused understandable concern, however, it is important that parents and guardians are making decisions based on the facts rather than social media speculation.”
