Ban for Mansfield drink driver who was four-and-a-half times OVER the limit

A drink driver was four-and-a-half times over the legal limit when he was pulled over by police, a court has heard.

Marius Moisa's blue Ford Focus was stopped on Kirklington Road, Bilsthorpe, on December 9, last year.

A test revealed he had 153 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath, when the legal limit of 35 mcgs.

Moisa, 44, of Carter Lane, Mansfield, pleaded guilty to drink-driving and failing to surrender when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on February 23

Magistrates sentenced him to 16 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months because the alcohol level was "one of the highest seen."

The sentence was suspended due to Moisa's remorse, lack of previous convictions and because he has made good the damage.

He was ordered to attend 18 rehabilitation days, and pay a £128 surcharge with £85 costs.

He was banned for 52 months but a drink-drive rehabilitation course will cut the disqualification by 395 days if he completes it before March 2024.
