Arrest made after man kicked and punched during ‘frightening’ robbery in Mansfield

A man was reportedly kicked and punched before having money taken from him during a robbery in Mansfield.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Rosemary Street just before 10.05pm on Friday, March 26, following reports of a man demanding money off the victim.

The force said that a small amount of cash was taken during the incident.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Lauren Morgan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "An arrest has been made in connection with the reported robbery and we continue our enquiries into this incident.

"This was frightening for the victim and we are absolutely dedicated to investigating this and understanding the circumstances around what happened.

"However, we believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public, and we would reassure people that we will thoroughly investigate where there is such a report.”
