Appeal after masked attacker assaults and attempts to rob teenage boy in Sutton

Officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault and attempted robbery on a teenage boy in Sutton.

At around 8pm yesterday (Friday, March 8), four teenagers were approached by a group of five people in an alleyway between Collins Avenue and Sherwood Road.

One of the teenagers, a 16-year-old boy, was assaulted by one of the group and sustained minor injuries.

The group are described as four males and a female.

The person who assaulted the boy is described as around 15-years-old, dressed in dark clothing with his face covered by a balaclava.

He is believed to have asked the boy for his belongings but the teenager was able to get away without handing them over.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area, or may have any information, to get in touch via 101, quoting incident 825 of 8 March 2019.
