Appeal after Mansfield woman 'assaulted and robbed' by man carrying cans of lager

Police are appealing for information after a woman was ‘assaulted and robbed’ as she made her way back home from Mansfield town centre.

In the early hours of January 26, at around 3.30am, the woman was walking down Westfield Lane when a man approached her.

He assaulted her before stealing her handbag. The woman suffered cuts and bruises to her head and knees.

The man has been described as a white man, around 40-50-years-old, of average build and 5 foot 5 ins tall.

He was wearing a blue cotton hoodie with a zip front and blue jeans.

The man was carrying two cans of Tisci larger (a white can with red writing on).

His hood was up, but he appeared to be bald, with an Eastern European accent.
