Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a dog walker was knocked unconscious during a robbery in a Mansfield park.

A 31-year-old man who was the victim in the attack, was approached by three men in Carr Bank Park, Windmill Lane at around 6am on Monday, July 13.

The group asked the man for a lighter before he was then struck to the head, knocking him unconscious.

The trio then stole his mobile phone and belongings.

Detective Sergeant Mark Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working hard to establish the circumstances of this incident and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.

"Thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously injured.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has any information to please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 126 of 13 July 2020."
