Alfreton assault leaves man with broken jaw

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Alfreton which left a man with a broken jaw

At around 12.15am on Sunday, 27th July, a man was walking home along Nottingham Road when he was approached on the street by a man and assaulted.

The victim was punched in the face and fell to the floor, where he was knocked unconscious. He was then helped up by an unknown person shortly after the attack.

The assault resulted in the victim receiving surgery for a broken jaw at the Queen’s Medical Centre.

The offender was said to be wearing dark-coloured clothing.

Officers are keen to speak to the person who helped the victim around the time of the incident to aid their investigation.
