An alcoholic who admitted he stole to fund his habit has appeared in court.
Nicholas Mark Fuller (46) of David Street, Kirkby, appeared before magistrates where he admitted two counts of theft.
On 13th March, he entered Asda in Sutton where he took two legs of lamb worth £20, put them in his bag and left the store without paying.
A short time later he entered the Aldi supermarket in Sutton, where he put a £3.79 bottle of wine in his bag and tried to leave the store, but was challenged by security staff.
Defending, Mark Stocks, said his client had taken the meat to sell so he could buy alcohol. The case was adjourned until 8th April.
