Declan Prosser, Welbeck Street, pleaded guilty to a public order offence, resisting a constable in the execution of his duty and assaulting an emergency worker at Nottingham Magistrates Court last weekend.

Police were called on Friday, October 30 to Lindleys Lane in Kirkby, following a report that a man was causing criminal damage to a property.

Officers searched the area and detained Prosser before he kicked out at an emergency worker.

Police Sergeant Carl Holland said: "Officers sighted a man who matched his description following a report of a public order offence.

"The man began shouting and swearing at officers in Lindleys Lane in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

"The man made threats to spit at officers after reports he damaged a fence panel.

"During the incident it was reported he also banged on the bonnet of the police car.

"Once detained in the police van it was reported he kicked an officer causing pain.

"It's never acceptable for our officers who are serving on the front line and protecting our communities to be threatened in these difficult times.

"We will continue to take the strongest action possible against anyone who behaves in this way and place them before the courts at the earliest opportunity."

The 19-year-old from Kirkby who admitted causing multiple offences last Friday, including assaulting an emergency worker has been bailed and will return for sentencing at Nottingham Magistrates Court on December 16.
