CRASH: Person hospitalised after smash on major Notts road

A person was taken into hospital after a car crash on a main Nottinghamshire road.

The collision took place between a Volkswagen Polo and a Mercedes on the A57 in Manton Wood, close to the A1 roundabout at about 1.45pm on Sunday, January 31.

A police spokesman said one person sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Fire and rescue crews from Worksop and Tuxford were also sent to help with the incident.

The road was left blocked and reopened at 3.35pm.
