CRASH: Man and dog rescued in car and lorry collision in Notts

A man and a dog had to be cut free after a crash between a car and a lorry in Harworth.

Emergency services were called to Blythe Road after the collision between the Renault Megane and HGV just after 2pm on Thursday (April 14).

Firefighters from Harworth, Worksop and Newark were called to the scene to remove the man from his vehicle.

The driver was then taken to hospital in an air ambulance.

A police spokesman said his injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

A dog was also extricated by the fire service.

The road remained closed off until about 4.30pm.
