Council removes flytipped cannabis roots

Council workers have cleared away cannabis plants that had been flytipped on a patch of remote Mansfield land, it has been reported.

The Chad reported this morning that bags filled with roots from the illegal plants had been dumped on a lane next to the MARR route, and had begun to grow.

However, the police, along with council workers, have quickly moved to remove the dumped plants after it was feared people would try to find the plants.

Inspector Nick Butler said: “We’ve been down there and everything has been removed.

“There was evidence of equipment that had been dumped, but the council workers are there now taking it away.”
