Council help for elderly residents

Nottinghamshire older people are being reminded of the wide range of services and products available locally to help them remain independent in their homes.

Nottinghamshire County Council has a directory where older people can source equipment in the county to assist them to live at home.

It also offers a Handy Person Adaptation Service for people over 60 or who have a disability to carry out adaptations such as fitting grab rails and half steps.

People can have up to £250 worth of adaptations supplied and fitted in a single job for the cost of £15 which are carried by professional traders approved by the Council.

People can visit the Choose My Support website at www.choosemysupport.org.uk/ to find out care and support services available in the county.
