Council celebrates recycling success

Bolsover District Council is in the top 10 most improved councils in the country in terms of recycling according to the latest figures released by DEFRA.

Figures show that the council has increased levels of recycling from 27.54 per cent (2010\11) to 36.78 per cent (2011\12) a performance improvement of 33.53 per cent.

The council is the seventh most improved council in England and Wales in terms of recycling.

Improved recycling has been greatly assisted by the introduction of the burgundy bin recycling service and alternate week collection of black and green bins.
