Council cash-back scheme is put into action

The Mayor of Mansfield, Tony Egginton officially opened In Design, which is run by Mr Bircan Akay and Mr Ali Ozcan, this week.

They took advantage of Mansfield District Council’s cash incentive scheme, which offers £1,000 cashback to businesses taking on new leases at any of the council’s vacant retail, office and industrial properties.

The council spent about £15,000 making the vacant property suitable for occupation and has negotiated lease terms to reflect their business needs.

Mr Akay said: “The council has been very supportive and helpful during the whole process. The premises are now in great condition and the property cashback is a fantastic incentive that has helped to keep down our start-up costs.”

Executive Mayor Tony Egginton said: “I am thrilled to see a new business opening in the town centre with the support of the Council and I would urge any new businesses to get in touch with us to see what help we can offer.”

The Property Cash Back of £1,000 and flexible lease terms are available on most of the Council’s available retail, office and industrial properties.
