Corrupt doorstep traders warning

Residents in Newark and Sherwood are being warned to be wary of doorstep traders operating in the district.

This follows an incident in Southwell where an elderly gentleman was asked to pay out a large sum of money for some gardening work.

On this occasion police were alerted, intervened and dealt with the young man who had demanded the money accordingly.

Householders are advised not to engage with cold-calling traders who turn up on the doorstep and to look out for elderly and vulnerable neighbours.

If you see anything suspicious phone Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
