Dawn Louise Cojocariu, 42, of Chesterfield Road North, Pleasley, admitted using abusive words when she appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Robert Carr, prosecuting, said Cojocariu tried to help her relative but ended up swearing and rowing with officers at her home address on September 10.

Chris Perry, mitigating said: “The family called the police after an altercation.

“She saw her relative being pinned to the floor.

“He became more and more upset, face down on the ground in the rain. She tried to talk him down.

“She wanted to make sure he went quietly. She thought she was doing right by him. There were no threats of violence. She shouldn’t have said what she said.”

The court heard she was convicted of common assault and criminal damage at a trial in January 2016.

Magistrates gave her a 12 month conditional discharge and she was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
