A climbing wall and slacklining challenge are two of the activities being organised by the Cumberland beat team for a free Easter fun day in Mansfield at the St Philip Neri School on Wednesday 27th, 10am to 3pm.
Cumberland Beat Manager PCSO Donna Ward said: “This is a great opportunity for everyone from the local community, particularly children and young people, to have some fun and to get to know the members of their local beat team and to try something for the first time.
“Slacklining is not yet really well-known, but it is starting to catch on around the world. The best way of describing it is like tightrope walking, only this rope isn’t tight.
“There are some delicious prizes to win too, courtesy of Tesco. As well as the beat team, we’ll have the Sure Start staff there offering advice from 1pm.”
, and we are still adding more things to the schedule as the day gets closer.
“We’ll have delicious refreshments available, and hopefully we’ll have some good weather too. Even if we don’t, we’ll still guarantee plenty of fun.”
