Cooking up a healthy storm

Bulwell residents who wanted to learn some top tips in how to transform fresh food into healthy family meals took part in a cookery course at the Riverside recently.

The idea was run through the Bulwell Forest Community Garden scheme and was a free eight week course, designed to increase confidence in growing fruit and vegetables and then cooking with the fresh produce.

All tools, gloves and refreshments were provided.

“It’s a great way to encourage people to grow their own food and then give them the knowledge on how to make healthy meals the whole family can enjoy,” said Bulwell Forest Garden chairman, Barbara Bates.
