Consultation on Derbyshire County Council housing support cuts

People who receive housing related support in Derbyshire are being asked for their views on changes to the services.

Derbyshire County Council is proposing to reduce services which support homeless people and those with housing needs.

As part of the authority’s plan to meet £157m of budget cuts by 2018, it is proposed to cut the money it spends on housing-related support by £9m over two years, in two phases.

Following consultation, phase one of the changes to housing-related support services has now been agreed, with £2.4 million being cut from services.

The council is now considering new proposals as part of phase two of the housing-related support cuts.

Cuon Clare Neill Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said: “We want to hear from as many people as possible during the consultation and work with organisations affected to see if services can be offered differently so that some can continue to run to support the most vulnerable.” Consultations run from 12th August to 18th November.
