St Andrew’s Church

All Age Worship on Sunday week was led by Lay Reader Heather Brown, assisted by Lay Reader Joan Wood, from Farnsfield, who gave a talk. Readings were by Linda Goldby and HarveyWoodward. Sue Wilson did the prayers, and Tracy Lowe supervised children’s activities. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sue Wilson and Malcolm Goodall.

Bilsthorpe

Green Centre

Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 15 members to the meeting on Tuesday week. Raffle winners were Betty Marshall and Mary Hughes. Eighteen members were welcomed to Friday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Francis Cooper and Madge Walker. Refreshments were served by committee members David Ramsdale and Celia Smith. Bingo caller for both sessions was Celia Smith.

Eight members attended the session held Thursday week in the Village Hall. Winner of the raffle prize was Geoff Hutchinson.

Over 50s Club

Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 48 members to the meeting held on Wednesday week in the Welfare. Dance MC was Dennis Knight and bingo caller was David Ramsdale. Members joined in a horse racing-themed game arranged by Marion Sentence, Graham Vardy and Brian Charlesworth. A general knowledge quiz arranged by Bill Lamb was won by Monica Powell. Winners of the chocolate dance were Les Bunting and Ivy Wells. Refreshments were served by Jan Jones. Twenty-three raffle prizes were won by Sue Ball, Connie Roberts, Janet Knight, Gillian Hattersley, Janet Towle, Marion Sentence, Rayna Clipston, Denis Teather, Marion Towle, David Ramsdale, Jenny DeBoer, Jacqueline Brown, Brenda Wilderspin, Barbara Marson, Carol Bird, Fred Brown, Sheila Cottrill, John Hattersley and Agnes Heron. The club is looking for new members. All welcome.

Burton Court Centre

Chairman Sandra Morton welcomed 16 members to Tuesday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Ann Hutchinson and Maureen James. Nineteen members were welcomed to Thursday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Celia Smith and Cynthia Reade. Refreshments were served by committee members and helpers. Bingo callers were Sandra Morton and Ann Hutchinson.

St Margaret’s Church

Family Service on Sunday week was led by Lay Readers Heather Brown and Joan Wood. The theme was Happiness in Jesus. Hospitality greeter was Nan Devonport and the reader was Iolen Harding. Joan Wood preached and led prayers. The offertory was taken by Jenny Elston. Family service takes place once a month and the church would like to welcome more children for this special service. Sandra Burrows supervised the children in activities and Heather Brown read a story, and provided the work for the children to do. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sandra Burrows, John and Jill Olley and Fred Brown. Organist was Derek Reaney.
