Green Centre

Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 22 members to Tuesday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Dot Johnson and Peggy Coupland. Bingo caller was Celia Smith. Twenty-one members attended Friday week’s meeting. Raffle winner was Joan West. Tea and refreshments were served by committee members and helpers: Celia Smith, David Ramsdale, Maureen Abbott, Irene Westerman and Jean Corkish. Bingo caller was Celia Smith.

Over 50s Club

Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 52 members to Wednesday week’s meeting at the Welfare. MC was Dennis Knight and bingo caller was Connie Roberts. Members joined in a horse racing theme game arranged by Joe Lowde, Katie Towle and Becky Kemp. A general knowledge quiz arranged by Bill Lamb was won by Connie Roberts. Chocolate dance winners were Reg and Kay Clayton. Refreshments were served by Marion Towle. Twenty-five raffle prizes were won, winners are as follows: Marion Towle, Laurie Mudd, Sheila Cordon, Agnes Heron, Sheryl Bird, Jenny DeBoer, David Ramsdale, Christine Benn, Margaret Lamb, Pat Curry, Rayna Clipston. Brenda Wilderspin, Jill Olley Connie Charlesworth, Connie Roberts, Jean Higgins Jean Corkish, Reg Clayton, Marion Sentence and Summer Bird. A special raffle for a scarecrow was donated by Gillian Hattersley and was won by Barbara Marsden.

Burton Court Centre

Chairman Sandra Morton welcomed 17 members to Thursday week’s meeting. Bingo was played and a raffle arranged, winners were Brenda Wilderspin, Phyllis Salmon, Sheila Hall and Maureen James. Refreshments were served by committee members and helpers. Bingo caller was Sandra Morton.

St Margaret’s Church

Holy Communion service Sunday week was led by the Vicar Rev’d Richard Seymour-Whiteley who also preached. Readers were Marion Towle and Elaine Smith. Intercessions were by Jenny Elston. . Challis was Jacqueline Brown and offertory was taken by Alessia Barnard-Pasqualone. Hospitality greeter was Marion Towle. Organist was Derek Reaney. Refreshments were served afterwards by Marion Towle, Jenny Elston and Jacqueline Brown.
