Community groups dive in for Rotary Sponsored Swim
Hucknall Rotary Club’s annual Sponsored Swim event raised over £1,000 for a number of different community groups who took part.
The Rotary Club organise the event, which is held at Hucknall Leisure Centre, and invite groups to take part and raise money for their own groups or worthy causes.
“This year 42 people took part representing nine different groups including Merlin Explorer Scouts, the 4th and 8th Hucknall Guide Groups, Air Training Corps Cadets and the Green Arrows,” said Rotary chairman, Ian Young. “Our own swimming representative for the Rotary, Steven Haywood, swam 58 lengths.” The The combined amount raised by the separate groups was over £1,000.
