College one step closer to success

Staff and students at Hope Valley College are one step closer to turning their exciting idea into a reality.

The college has been selected as a regional finalist in The School We’d Like contest which invites pupils and teachers to come up with an idea to benefit them.

Staff and students hope to transform their school by creating a waterwheel.

They will attend a Dragons Den-style regional final to present their idea to a panel of judges. If successful they could win £5,000 to bring their idea to life.

Paul Tombs, head of education at Zurich Municipal which is organising the competition, said: “The calibre of entries in this year’s competition is exceptional. The combined imaginations of pupils and teachers have again developed some fantastic ideas on how to improve their schools to make them a better place to work and learn.”
