Developers hoping to transform the old toxic Coalite works site in Bolsover into a housing and commercial estate are hosting public exhibitions.
Bolsover Land Ltd was formed by DSM Group and Marcol Industrial to regenerate the former works site and has released images of how the site could look after a clean up to coincide with its exhibitions.
Nigel Lax, Bolsover Land Ltd development director said: “The site is heavily contaminated and requires a lot of work to clean. The computer
images from architects FletcherRae show what could be achieved with the development providing new jobs, commercial opportunities and homes.”
Bolsover Land Ltd has acquired the site and hopes to submit a planning application for industrial and storage facilities, business units and up to 800 homes with retail facilities, and a waste to energy plant providing ‘green’ heat and power. The exhibitions are on June 6, from midday to 5pm, at Clowne Community Centre, Villa Park, Recreation Close, and on June 7, from midday to 7.30pm, at Bolsover Assembly Hall, Hilltop, Bolsover. Those interested can visit www.coalite-regeneration.com live from midday, June 6.
