Cleaning up crime spots

Work is underway on a new project to make the roadsides tidier and safer around Mansfield town centre.

Overgrown roadside shrubbery is being removed to make areas more attractive, easier to clean and to reduce fly tipping, anti-social behaviour and drug related crime. The shrubbery will be replaced with grass or tarmac to make the areas cleaner and safer.

The work will take place on Rosemary Street, Chesterfield Road South and around the town centre ring road near Clumber Street car park, Boothys and Riley’s.

The project will cost approximately £20,000 and is being funded by Mansfield District Council, Mansfield BID and Mansfield Partnership Against Crime (MPAC).
