“THANK YOU from the bottom of our heart.”
That is the message from organisers of the Chad and Mansfield Rotary Club’s ‘Big Clean Up Day’ on Saturday – which kicked off a high-profile campaign to restore historic Berry Hill Park to its former glory.
Around 160 volunteers of all ages – including workers from some of the town’s most well known firms – took part in the special community event to breathe new life into the 80-acre park.
They were joined by Mansfield’s very own modern-day stars, TV and radio presenter Richard Bacon and Olympic double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington.
Said Rotn Stewart Rickersey: “It was just amazing and very satisfying – it was a wonderful thing to be a part of.”
Now organisers are aleady looking forward to a second clean up day at the park ahead of a family fun day on 12th June.
