Christmas lights big switch on planned

Alfreton Town Council will be marking the counctdown to Christmas at their big switch-on event next Friday, 22nd November in the grounds of Alfreton House.

The lights will be switched on at 5pm by Alfreton councillor, John Walker, who is the serving town mayor and who will be accompanied by players from Alfreton Town Football Club

Entry to the event will be free of charge, and there will be charity stalls, street entertainers, hot food and drinks, and Christmas-themed entertainments from local schools.

The town council has organised a free raffle with a chance to win one of four family tickets to watch Alfreton Town Football Club plus other prizes.

Santa Claus will also be there be accompanied by Peppa Pig.
