Chinese takeaway driver was high on heroin and cocaine in Mansfield
Reginald James Nathan Wood, 30, of Newton Street, Mansfield, admitted driving while unfit though drugs at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Ruth Snodin, prosecuting, said Wood’s Ford Fiesta was stopped on Quarry Road, Mansfield, on March 30, after he was reported by a member of the public.

Hide AdHe tested positive for heroin and cocaine. The court heard he had previous convictions for burglary and the theft of a motor vehicle.
Sarah Neale, mitigating, said: “He had taken amphetamine and methadone, but he doesn’t know how the cocaine got into his system.
“He thought it would have been out of his system by the time he had to drive.
“He was working as a delivery driver for a Chinese takeaway. He has now lost his job.”

Hide AdShe said Wood had also been doing a paper round as part of an agreement to do with his accommodation, but had since lost that job as well and had been evicted.
He was banned for 12 months and fined £120 with £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
