Children's pushchair recalled due to safety fears

A children's pushchair has been recalled by its manufacturer due to a technical issue.

Mamas & Papas have identified what they describe as a “Minor technical issue” with the Armadillo Flip and Flip XT.

A loose catch can cause the seat to slip backwards when the baby is parent-facing and being pushed.

However, the manufacturer say that there is no safety risk. And there are no reports of children being injured.

Mamas & Papas say that they are in the process of contacting customers to invite them to visit a store or arrange a free home collection so that a full test can be conducted and, if required, a minor technical adjustment can be made to rectify the issue.

As the fault has been fixed on all new production, any current and new orders are unaffected by this issue.

“We take product quality and assurance very seriously and the safety of our customers is always our primary concern,” the company said.

“We would like to apologise to customers and stress that the issue does not pose a safety risk.

Customers can visit any Mamas & Papas store with their chair to have it returned to the service centre for a full technical inspection and repair if necessary. Any queries can be addressed to the customer services team on 03332 412154.
