A charity night to raise money for a Sutton mum and former teacher who has vowed to keep fighting after being diagnosed with “untreatable” stage four lung cancer, is to have live performances.

Rachel Lucas, aged 44, who has two young sons and taught art at Sutton’s Quarrydale Academy, says the NHS says her condition is “untreatable”. But she is now raising money so she can receive private treatment.
She needs to raise £60,000 for the “cutting edge” treatment and has so far raised £17,500 on her YouCaring page.

The charity night held at the Tripple S Club, on Mansfield Road, Skegby, will see a night of music.

Two acts have been named as Neil Timothy and Gary Haynes.

The event is to be held on Thursday, November 23 from 8,30pm.

Tickets are £5 and can be perchanced by calling the club on 01623 515533.
