Charity music event in Kirkby

A free afternoon of live music aimed at raising hundreds of pounds for charity will take place in Kirkby on Satirday.

The outdoor musical festival takes place at The Wyvern, on Urban Road, features a variety of local acts.

The Hype, who are popular in the Kirkby area for their upbeat performances and covers of well-known indie rock songs, will be headlining the event.

The female-fronted Mindful Soul will also be playing, along with girl band Desensitised, who on this occasion will be performing as an acoustic duo.

Many other talented artists will also be featured on the day, ranging from pop to folk music acts to suit a variety of musical tastes.

Acts include:Strummin’ Johnny Carey, Gary ‘Country’ Roe, Poteen, Four Flat Tyres and Griffam.

All proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
