Alzheimer’s Society is looking for volunteers to run the Robin Hood Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday 11th September in Nottingham, to raise funds to support its work to improve the lives of people with dementia, their families and carers.
There are currently estimated to be over 11,000 people living with dementia in Nottinghamshire with this number predicted to rise to almost 15,000 by 2021.
Cathy Lowe, Nottinghamshire’s Fundraising Manager for Alzheimer’s Society in says; ‘We can offer fundraising and running advice to anyone who wants to raise money for us, we’re hoping to raise £10,000 from the event. Alzheimer’s Society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow, we rely on voluntary donations to continue our vital work which will help us to support our local services.”
