Changes to Ashfield bin rounds

Bin collection rounds in Ashfield have been re-organised because the district council is now required to collect all the same type of waste in the same week.

The new rounds took effect from this Monday and all residents have been sent a new calendar by Ashfield District Council confirming if their collection day has changed.

It is also likely that the time that people’s bins are collected has also changed.

According to the council, the new bin collection programme is necessary because it now takes its waste to a new location and has been told it has to collect all black bins in the district one week and all green bins the next.

It used to collect half the black bins and half the green bins each week.

The authority says that it has taken this opportunity to reorganise collection rounds so they are more efficient, saving up to £50,000 a year as a result. It is for this reason that some collection days have changed.

Residents are being asked to ensure that they put their bins/box out by 6am on the day of collection.

If anybody is unsure when their collection day is, they can visit the council’s website, email [email protected] or call Mansfield 450000 and select option three.
