Hundreds of Mansfield women could be taking to the streets for a midnight walk in aid of a charity which supports children with cancer.
Women in fancy dress will take to the streets for a 10 mile circular walk starting at Mansfield District Council’s offices in Chesterfield Road South.
The event has been organised by Ben Cornelius-Price who is the fundraising director for The Joshua Foundation which provides life changing experiences and opportunities for children with terminal cancer.
Ben said: “I’m Mansfield born and bred and this is the first time we will have done a walk in my home town.
“We’ve done them in other places across the country which have been very successful.
The Ab Fab walk takes place on the night of Saturday 29th September and will go up Chesterfield Road South, through Pleasley, down Abbott Road, past Kings Mill Hospital then West Notts College before heading up Nottingham Road back into Mansfield.
Ben is hoping 100 ladies can sign up.
“If they all raised £100 then that’s £10,000 which would be incredible,” he said.
“We are trying to get women to enter, groups of women friends and family, corporate teams. There will be entertainment and prizes will be given for best fancy dress.
“It’s an all female walk but men can do it as long as they put that dress on.
“When walkers arrive back they will greeted with a bacon roll and glass of champagne.”
