AFTER weeks of showcasing successful businesses that have made their home in Ashfield, the winners of the Best in Business scheme are preparing for their trip to Parliament.

The four people who will be accompanying Chad reporters Helen Beighton and Catherine Allen to the House of Commons are June Melvin, of The Diamond; Katherine Redshaw, of The White Room; Matthew Sowter, of The Kurburgring, and Kirsty Hoole, from New Cross Launderette.

The special trip will include transport provided by ACE-ABC, watching Prime Minister’s Questions and having lunch with Ashfield MP Gloria De Piero, who has been backing Best in Business.

She said: “The Chad’s Best in Business Scheme has been a great way to boost businesses who play such an important role in the local economy here in Ashfield.

“They have done a great job showcasing the good work of Ashfield’s businesses and the reaction to the competition has been terrific.

“It just goes to show that it’s not all doom and gloom, as the scheme has shown over the last couple of weeks there is so much to celebrate and I’m really looking forward to meeting the winners in Parliament next Wednesday for a well-deserved lunch.”
