The reputation of the Center Parcs holiday village in Sherwood Forest continues to soar after it retained its five-star status from the country’s official tourist board.

Assessors from VisitEngland reviewed the services and facilities at Center Parcs earlier this year, and handed out a quality score of 90 per cent.

Comments from the assessors included: “There has been a considerable amount of investment since our last visit. Staff were found to be exceptionally friendly, while excellent levels of cleanliness were noted throughout. The village is litter free.”

Each year, every aspect of the holiday centre is thoroughly inspected -- from the quality of accommodation, food and activities to the ease of booking and level of service provided.

During 2017, about £80 million was spent on accommodation, refurbishments and upgrades across the five sites owned by Center Parcs UK, including Sherwood Forest.

Operations director Alan Park said: “We are delighted that Sherwood Forest has again been awarded five stars. We work hard to ensure that our villages are maintained to a high standard.

“We continually re-invest to ensure there is something new each time for returning guests. Getting this recognition from VisitEngland is a testament to the team and the excellent service they deliver.”
