A terrified cat that became trapped in a wall at a leisure centre in Mansfield was pulled to safety by firefighters this morning.
Firefighters from Blidworth rushed to the aid of the feline at the Squash Club on Warsop Lane, Rainworth at around 10.30am today (Wednesday, July 27).
Blidworth watch manager, Seth Vasey, said: “There is some work being done at the centre and the cat, which was only little, appeared and managed to get itself into a little hole.
“There are lots of voids between the walls, but fortunately we managed to persuade it into a corner first and could get our hands through the hole to get it out.
“We initially took a thermal imaging camera in case we couldn’t see it but it turned out all we needed was some tough gloves to stop anybody getting hurt as it was obviously distressed.”
