Carpet store to close nine stores in Midlands

Carpetright is set to close nine stores across the Midlands as it undergoes a new restructure although stores in Mansfield and Chesterfield have escaped the axe.

Around 300 jobs are set to go as the company earmarks 92 stores for closure across the UK.

The group employs 2,700 staff and also confirmed they need to raise £60 million through a rights issue to put the company on a firmer financial footing.

The stores set to close in the Midlands:
