Care home inspection changes across Nottinghamshire
The current ranking system of ‘compliant’ and ‘non-compliant’ have been replaced by ‘outstanding’, ‘good’, ‘requires improvement’ and ‘inadequate’.
Specialist teams, including trained members of the public, will inspect home unannounced and determine if they are safe, caring, effective, responsive to their needs, and well-led.

Hide AdThe CQC carries out regular inspections of care homes across the country and has the power to close a care home if failing are persistent.
Coun Muriel Weisz, chairman of the council’s adult social care committee, said: “I look forward to reading the full proposals in more detail, but the new rating system for care homes seems a sensible proposal as the previous rating system was too black and white and was not easy for the public to understand.
“The planned new approach with inspections appears much more common sense and has more of a focus on what matters most to the public.”
